Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines prohibited uses of AgentRegistry. Violations may result in account suspension or termination without refund.

2. Prohibited Activities

You may NOT use AgentRegistry to:

2.1 Illegal Activities

  • ❌ Store, transmit, or promote illegal content
  • ❌ Violate any local, national, or international law
  • ❌ Facilitate criminal activity or fraud
  • ❌ Infringe on intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, patent)
  • ❌ Traffic in illegal goods or services

2.2 Harmful Content

  • ❌ Store or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • ❌ Promote violence, terrorism, or hate speech
  • ❌ Harass, threaten, or stalk individuals
  • ❌ Distribute malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • ❌ Engage in doxxing or non-consensual sharing of private information

2.3 Security & Abuse

  • ❌ Attempt to breach or circumvent security measures
  • ❌ Conduct or facilitate hacking, phishing, or social engineering attacks
  • ❌ Use the Service to attack or disrupt other systems (DDoS, port scanning)
  • ❌ Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code
  • ❌ Scrape or harvest user data without authorization
  • ❌ Create fake accounts or impersonate others

2.4 Spam & Unsolicited Communications

  • ❌ Send unsolicited bulk emails (spam)
  • ❌ Use the Service for mass marketing campaigns without consent
  • ❌ Create agents that engage in automated spam or harassment

2.5 Resource Abuse

  • ❌ Exceed API rate limits or abuse system resources
  • ❌ Run cryptocurrency mining operations
  • ❌ Use the Service as a general file storage or CDN without authorization
  • ❌ Deliberately degrade service performance for other users

2.6 Fraudulent Use

  • ❌ Use stolen payment methods
  • ❌ Create multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limits
  • ❌ Engage in chargebacks or payment fraud
  • ❌ Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

2.7 Content Restrictions

  • ❌ Store or distribute sexually explicit content involving minors
  • ❌ Store or distribute non-consensual intimate images ("revenge porn")
  • ❌ Promote self-harm or suicide
  • ❌ Facilitate human trafficking or exploitation

3. Monitoring & Enforcement

3.1 Our Approach

  • We use end-to-end encryption and zero-knowledge architecture
  • We cannot access your unencrypted data
  • We rely on abuse reports, metadata analysis, and automated scanning of unencrypted metadata only

3.2 Enforcement Actions

If we determine (or are notified) that you are violating this AUP, we may:

  • Issue a warning
  • Temporarily suspend your account
  • Permanently terminate your account
  • Report illegal activity to law enforcement
  • Cooperate with legal investigations

3.3 No Refunds

Accounts terminated for AUP violations are not eligible for refunds.

4. Reporting Abuse

If you encounter content or behavior that violates this AUP, report it to:

  • Screenshots or evidence (if safe to provide)

We will investigate all reports promptly and take appropriate action.

5. Legal Compliance

5.1 DMCA (Copyright Infringement)

If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed, file a DMCA notice with:

  • Include: Description of copyrighted work, location of infringing content, your contact information, and a statement of good faith belief

5.2 Law Enforcement Requests

We comply with valid legal requests (subpoenas, court orders) in accordance with applicable law. See our [Transparency Report] for statistics on government requests.

5.3 Child Safety (CSAM)

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material. We report all instances to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law.

6. Intellectual Property

You may not use AgentRegistry to:

  • Host or distribute pirated software, movies, music, or books
  • Infringe on trademarks (e.g., impersonating brands)
  • Violate trade secrets or proprietary information
  • Bypass DRM or access controls

7. Privacy & Data Protection

You may not use AgentRegistry to:

  • Scrape or harvest personal data without consent
  • Store data in violation of GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy laws
  • Collect sensitive data (health records, financial info) without proper safeguards
  • Engage in unauthorized surveillance or tracking

8. AI-Specific Guidelines

8.1 Ethical AI Use

  • Do not use agents for deceptive purposes (deepfakes, impersonation)
  • Do not train agents on data you don't have rights to
  • Do not create agents that violate consent or autonomy

8.2 Prohibited Agent Behaviors

  • Agents that spread misinformation or propaganda
  • Agents that manipulate or deceive users
  • Agents that engage in automated harassment or trolling

9. Network & API Use

9.1 Fair Use

  • Respect rate limits (default: 100 req/min per agent)
  • Do not use the Service as a proxy or VPN
  • Do not attempt to overwhelm our infrastructure

9.2 Rate Limit Violations

Repeated violations may result in:

  • Temporary throttling
  • Account suspension
  • Permanent ban

9.3 API Keys

  • Keep your API keys secure
  • Rotate keys if compromised
  • Do not share keys publicly (e.g., in GitHub repos)

10. Commercial Use

10.1 Allowed

  • Using Pro/Enterprise tiers for commercial agents
  • Integrating AgentRegistry into your product (with proper licensing)
  • Reselling agent memory as part of a larger service (with permission)

10.2 Not Allowed

  • Reselling raw AgentRegistry storage
  • Creating a competing memory service using our infrastructure
  • Bypassing payment by using multiple free accounts

11. Geographic Restrictions

AgentRegistry may not be available in all jurisdictions. Use is prohibited in:

  • Countries under comprehensive US sanctions (e.g., North Korea, Iran, Syria)
  • Jurisdictions where encryption is illegal

12. Cooperation with Investigations

You agree to cooperate with any investigation into AUP violations, including:

  • Providing information about your use of the Service
  • Responding to abuse reports
  • Complying with legal requests

Failure to cooperate may result in account termination.

13. Updates to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Interpretation

This AUP is supplementary to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. In case of conflict, the Terms of Service prevail.
